As the rain was coming down outside, my kids were inside running around. So in an effort to avoid a collision of small children, I had a suggestion.
“Let me finish cleaning up the kitchen, while you read your library books. Griffin or Ruthie you can read to Owen. When we are done we can play hide and seek.”
They thought this was a fine idea and so off they went.
Now they had books, but I am not so sure they ever actually opened them. As I was cleaning the kitchen, I could hear them talking in Griffin and Owen’s room. Well, I hated to interrupt them, so as I finished my job I took a seat on the couch. It wasn’t long before I could hear all three children giggling. Music to my ears. And just a few moments after that, was the sound of bodies falling to the floor followed by the walls and floor shaking and then of course, more giggling.
Now before I could even begin to get off the couch, Griffin emerged from his room. “Are you going to play hide and seek with us?”
“Are you done reading your book?”
“Well…we never really started reading our books.”
Really? I had no idea!
