Last year the kids and I created our Christmas cards.
Each child created a snowman with their fingerprints. Now I would like to claim I came up with this idea all on my own. However, I did not. I was looking for an easy idea for Christmas cards, and I found several pictures of fingerprint snowmen all in a row. What a terrific idea! We can do that! Or so I thought…
However, our snowmen certainly weren’t all in a row. Plus my kids began smudging extra spots onto the cards.
I started to stress out a little. The cards weren’t looking anything like my inspiration pieces.
“That’s OK. We’ll just make that be a snowball.”
Why didn’t I think of that before? That was genius!
And so the cards depicting a snowball fight amongst my children became my new inspiration.
It even gave me the idea for the words on the card.
“May you have a ball this holiday season.”
And because each of the cards was handmade, each was unique.
Did they turn out like I had planned. No. No, they did not. They turned out even better!
Only At My House,
*Only a few tears were shed during the making of these cards.
**This may be the reason why my husband said, “Please tell me you are not making the Christmas cards again this year”.
